“A poetic and documentary report on Bohuslän's past, present and future mood" based on spontaneous meetings and the conversations that followed.
Vida and Einar leave Gothenburg's construction sites and modernization plans behind, and embark on a journey through Bohuslän's countryside. They visit a shopping centre, a church, a moose park, ancient petroglyphs and stone circles, small towns and villages. The film explores questions about the past, present and future, for which Bohuslän as a microcosm mirrors a larger cosmos. Viewers are invited to ponder upon greater questions surrounding worldly changes that humanity is currently undergoing. Thoughts about community and belonging, nature, ancient civilisation, technology and human heritage arise – reflecting existential, and maybe timeless, human needs. Perhaps this emotional yet light-hearted account of our contemporary world may help us better understand each other in times when confusion, division and fear seems to rule the public. Rather than competing about the truth, is it time to look for alternative perspectives and ask ourselves the questions that may not have obvious answers?
